Until 1925, the fire service dept of the UP govt is located in Kaval town of the Uttar Pradesh govt. Now the Kaval town is the abbreviation used for the prominent cities of the UP state like Kanpur, Varanasi, Allahabad, Lucknow, and Agra. It was the time of 1939, the UP govt felt the requirement of well well-organized Fire Service Dept as it was the time of World War II. The UP State has taken the control of Fire services in 1944 fully. The name of the dept then was Uttar Pradesh Fire and Emergency Services.
Till the time of 1952, the UP government extended the fire services to the whole state. In 1944, the fire service had 8 fire stations and 198 fire service employees. At this time, there are 350 fire stations in the UP state and the department has 7043 employees.

Uttar Pradesh Police

The Uttar Pradesh Police dept has the largest police force not only in India but also in the entire world. The Director General of UP Police has to manage the 3.10 lakh employees. These employees are working in 75 districts. There are a total of 33 armed Battalions in UP.
The present Police system was suggested by the Police Commission headed by Mr. H.M. Court in 1860. After this, the Police Act of 1861 came into existence under the supervision of Mr. Court. The UP Police dept has various Specialised wings for combating organized crimes and economic offenses.
